The Bourne Town Hall project is made possible with The National Lottery Heritage Fund. Thanks to National Lottery players, we have been able to work towards restoring and transforming Bourne’s Town Hall building.

Welcome to our usual monthly round-up, with a summary of what has been happening in our Bourne Town Hall regeneration project.

We were delighted to welcome a very interesting visitor Jackson van Uden, the award-winning historian from the platform History with Jackson.

The video from Jackson’s visit to the Old Town Hall can be viewed here and we hope to invite him back to see the restored building once complete.

As the town continues to prepare for the celebrations of Charles Worth’s bicentenary in October 2025, we launched our poetry call-out, Poetic Worth, with a dedicated webpage full of prompts for your poetic creations and all details for submission.

In association with The Aveland History Group, Wake House and with funding from Bourne Town Council, two mosaics were made public this month which have been created by community volunteers led by Cecca Jay and organised by our very own trustee Hilary Bloomer on behalf of the Old Town Hall. The mosaics will be displayed for posterity in the Windmill Room at Wake House. Our thanks to all involved.

Our Town Hall Histories project continues to grow with some outstanding volunteer input and this month we were able to add a suite of laptops for volunteer use.

We’d like to thank Ray at Bourne Computer Store for his invaluable help with this.
