We asked Peter a few questions about his time spent with Bourne Town Hall Trust:
How are you helping Bourne Town Hall Trust with their regeneration project?
We (Chana Projects) are honoured to have been appointed as Project Managers and Contract Administrators on the Refurbishment and Restoration of Bourne Town Hall. Currently we are supporting the team with the completion of the detailed design, and managing the procurement of the Principal Contractor for the construction / capital works. Once the contactor has been appointed, we will be managing the professional team and the contractor as the works progress onsite. In addition, we are coordinating The National Lottery Heritage Fund reports with BTHT and helping the Trustees with the management of key project stakeholders.
Which is your favourite part of the Old Town Hall building?
Having only visited for the first time in the last few weeks, I still have to get to know the building properly! In all honesty I am incredibly excited to help restore the building’s original features, and my favourite of the planned new works is the clocktower which will be built as per the original drawings and will look stunning.
What have you discovered which is surprising/interesting/unexpected while working on this project?
Discovering the rich uses of the building has been fascinating, as I did not expect the building to have had so many different functions. I’m looking forward to learning more about the building’s varied history as the BTHT heritage research project continue to uncover untold stories about this beautiful building.
