Julian Lomas is Managing Director of Almond Tree Strategic Consulting Limited (www.almondtreeconsulting.co.uk), a value-driven consultancy supporting the not-for profit sector in the UK and beyond.
We asked Julian a few questions about his time spent with Bourne Town Hall Trust:
How are you helping Bourne Town Hall Trust with their regeneration project?
We have reviewed the governance of the Trust to ensure that it is fit for purpose for the next stages of its development. Boards, policies and constitutions may seem to be dull at best and a frustration at worst, but getting it right is essential to help secure funding and ensure safe, effective and efficient management of the project and subsequent operations.
Which is your favourite part of the Old Town Hall building?
I love the giant judge's chair in the old courtroom. Hard to resist sitting in it and feeling important!
What have you discovered which is surprising/interesting/unexpected while working on this project?
I never cease to be amazed by the dedication and zeal that local volunteers have for local heritage and arts projects. Such projects can appear overwhelming and yet all it takes is a few, talented and committed people to get things moving. It’s humbling what you have achieved so far and I’m sure you’ll see it through to realise your exciting vision for the Old Town Hall and the arts scene in Bourne.
