The Bourne Town Hall project is made possible with The National Lottery Heritage Fund. Thanks to National Lottery players, we have been able to work towards restoring and transforming Bourne’s Town Hall building.

Flaming June

June was a lively month for us, both with our regeneration project and a series of exciting pop-up fundraising events.

On the heritage side of things, our Town Hall Histories re-launched with Theresa Workman as our consultant. If you’re interested in getting involved with this part of the project, we’d love to hear from you.

We had a particularly inspiring morning with Beverley Gormley from the Heritage Network and Eve Gormley, a university placement student. We showed them around the building, shared our stories, and talked about our vision for the future. A big thank you to Eve for making a fantastic video of the building—it’s a great way to capture how things look before the transformation begins.

Thanks to the Heritage Network, we connected with the team at the Court House in Bangor, who have been through a similar regeneration journey. Even after just one conversation, we picked up some fresh perspectives and look forward to staying in touch as our project moves forward.

Our first pop-up fundraising weekend was a real hit, raising around £1,000! This came from a talk at the Red Hall by retired Wimbledon Umpire Alan Gray MBE, and from our stall at Bourne Town Council’s Picnic In The Park event. Thank you to everyone who helped make these events such a success!

We also had a great time at the Elsea Park Extravaganza (thanks to Elsea Park Community Trust and the Events team). We sold out earlier than expected and raised almost £200.

In a continuation of the community support which has left us amazed, we’re very grateful to Inpes for providing a free building alarm service—a generous gesture that we truly appreciate.

All in all, it was a flaming June for us, our project and our brilliant volunteers in more ways than one!
